Check and improve your Buma/Stemra income! Tips

David Dramm sits on the Buma/Stemra Council of Rightholders on behalf of New Geneco and chairs the repartition committee and the LIVE committee. David: “Some areas for improvement have been realized. Make sure you take advantage of these and don’t leave money lying around!”. TIPS for members:

  • CLICK-through – The settlement is more insightful, you can click through, then you get to more info about title, location, date. Karmit: “now I can see exactly which performances are paid and which are not”.
  • DOWNLOADING – Always download the CSV. In excel you can see if everything is correct.
  • SUBMIT – Submission of performances can now be done through the portal (the set list app is gone). You can also use the excel submission form.
  • COMPLETE PROGRAM – Always provide the complete repertoire list / set list, which has been played. In a program with e.g. your work and Beethoven, the copyright revenue is yours alone. If the complete info is missing, Buma/Stemra by default does not pay out or pays out too little.
  • CATEGORY – Our music is basically paid out in category ASE Amusement Speciaal Ernstig. Always check if the category is correct! Settlement of our music in ALE (Amusement Live Ernstig) is usually incorrect. TIP: Check every concert on ASE or ALE.
  • COMMENT – Wrong category? Missed performances? Submit a ‘comment’ if wrong
  • AUDIO UPLOADING – Radio, TV, Film and Online is tracked using fingerprinting. But this is only possible if there is audio. Therefore, always make sure you have an audio upload. You can upload all different recordings. Make your own audio recording. That works well!
