Selection for Parelduiken Concert 2024 Announced
Many works written by Dutch composers are rarely performed again after their premiere. Nieuw Geneco find this a shame!
The Parelduiken project aims to select a few ‘pearls’ of works from the vast array that the Dutch music world offers, giving new attention to these sometimes nearly forgotten pieces. For the first edition of this project, a matinee concert is scheduled on December 6, 2024 at TivoliVredenburg, featuring works by four composers that are rarely or never programmed. In addition to the works themselves, there will be brief interviews with the composers led by Aad van Nieuwkerk. For the programming of this concert, there was an open call for members of Nieuw Geneco, and the jury, consisting of Aad van Nieuwkerk, Doris Hochscheid, David Dramm, Jo Sporck, and Aljosja Buijs, selected the works.
The ‘Parelduiken’ project aims to bring renewed attention to this nearly forgotten music through a matinee concert at Tivolivredenburg in Utrecht. For the concert December 6, 2024, works by Caroline Ansink, Kris Oelbrandt, Christina Oorebeek, and Renske Vrolijk have been chosen.
