Nieuw Geneco composers judge international competition ‘Opera: Past Present Perfect!’

What is the future of opera? MOTO, an independent Serbian organisation, tries to find the answer in Opera: Past, Present, Perfect! A competition for young opera composers from Georgia, Montenegro and Serbia is part of this international project. The jury consists of three members of Nieuw Geneco: Martijn Padding, Aspasia Nasopoulou and Jasna Veličković. Karin Netten (the director of KASKO) is also a member of the jury.

Opera composers from Serbia, Georgia and Montenegro born after January 1st 1990, can enter the competition with the score of a new opera between 9 and 20 minutes long. The winning composer can see his opera on stage at the Duško Radović Theatre in Belgrade during the 2022/2023 season. Donemus is offering to publish the score.
