Classical:NEXT Fellowship // Nieuw Geneco Composers Programme 2020

Classical:NEXT Fellowship // Nieuw Geneco Composers Programme 2020

18-21 May 2020, Classical:NEXT Rotterdam (The Netherlands).

In collaboration with ECSA, Dutch Composers Association Nieuw Geneco will host the 2nd edition of the Composers Programme at Classical NEXT. The Programme gives composers a chance to take part in the international platform for exchange, debate & collaboration Classical:NEXT provides.

Each composer is paired with a Classical:NEXT-insider, who will introduce the composers to the community (and vice versa), bringing them into personal contact with relevant individuals and organizations as well as exchanging knowledge. A team of music professionals (publishers, programmers of venues, festivals) will do the matchmaking.

The Composers Programme offers:

  • Composers Network-rate for the Registration for Classical:NEXT, including all events, trade fair, conferences, showcases, CN app and incl. coffee/tea and lunch
  • Composers Info
  • Composers Meeting at CNEXT
  • Composers Conference on Fair Practice in Contemporary Music
  • Connection to music professional and CNEXT insiders
  • Matchmaking and speeddate sessions
  • Wednesday Networkreception at Codarts Music University (next door)
  • Composer-delegate bio’s on our website www.nieuwgeneco.nl

Your Costs:

  • Registration for Classical:NEXT.

  • Your stay in the Netherlands*
    * We could send out a call to our composers living in Amsterdam/Rotterdam, who can offer a place to stay.

As a host, Nieuw Geneco and Buma/Stemra are taking care of the local hosting costs, Composers’ meetings and network events, as well as the Networkreception.

ECSA supports spreading the offer to all ECSA members.

  • Send your list of participants to Nieuw Geneco (esthergottschalk@nieuwgeneco.nl) for approval, no later than February 21st.
  • The approved and accepted fellows will then receive a code from CN Registration (Merle Gerst).
  • The fellows register themselves with that code. They must do this as early as possible, by latest the „go live” rate deadline in March 6.
  • After registration you will receive the invoice from Classical NEXT.

Looking forward to meeting you in Rotterdam, May 2020!

Thanks to new connections I made at CN2018 my opera will be performed in Hong Kong 2019! If you, like me, wind up with at least one valuable contact, it is totally worth it.
